Spygate II: Broncos Being Investigated For Cheating

facebooktwitterreddit

The Denver Broncos are being investigated by the NFL for illegally video taping a San Francisco 49ers practice in London, according to the Denver Post.

You may remember a few years back, the New England Patriots were nailed by the NFL for video taping opposing team’s defensive signals during games which was against NFL regulations. The Patriots were in turn, stripped of a 2008 first round draft pick and heavy fines were levied against the team and head coach Bill Belichick.

Two employees of the Patriots at the time of the incident were Josh McDaniels and Steve Scarnecchia. McDaniels is now the Broncos head coach and Scarnecchia is their director of video operations.

Hmmmmm? See a pattern here?

More after the jump.

Apparently Scarnecchia is now on a “personal leave of absence” according to Broncos official Joe Ellis.

You may remember after the Chiefs got their butts whooped by the Broncos, Todd Haley refused to shake hands with Josh McDaniels. Haley received a lot of criticism for his actions for being a poor sport. Later, it was reported that Haley said “There is a lot of (expletive) being talked about you.”

It was not clear at the time what Haley meant but with this latest incident coming to light, there is a chance that Haley caught wind of the NFL investigation through league channels and that is what he was referring to when he wagged his finger at McDaniels after the game.

What do you think Addicts? Is McDaniels a cheater? What kind of penalty should the Broncos face if they are found to be in violation of the rules?
