The Kansas City Chiefs continue to be attached to a number of free agent wide receivers this spring, and the latest name to pop up as a person of interest is former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd.

NFL reporter Mark Kaboly says that multiple teams are circling Boyd as a potential addition, including the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets, but he also mentions that the Chiefs are in the mix.

The Chiefs are doing their homework on a number of free agent wide receivers.

Boyd is a familiar face around the NFL as a reliable target for the Bengals since being drafted back in 2016 as their second-round selection. While younger receivers like Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase earn far more press, Boyd has been a steady presence in the slot for years now.

The Chiefs have a significant need at wide receiver with only Rashee Rice holding down any reliable work among the lot. Justin Watson is back for another season, but his presence doesn't move the meter for a needy room as it is. Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore are also young holdovers from last year, but both present significant problems and should not be counted upon.

The Chiefs are losing Mecole Hardman to free agency and Marquez Valdes-Scantling was already released to cut costs for his level of production. That leaves the door wide open for multiple players to help remake the position around Rice and Travis Kelce at tight end.

In his NFL career, Boyd has caught 513 passes for 6,000 yards even and 31 touchdowns.
