Frank Clark

Speaking of pass rushers who could potentially return, Dunlap might be solid, but only one has a fellow teammate banging the gong each day on Twitter waiting for him to re-sign.

By now everyone in Chiefs KIngdom knows that All-Pro pass rusher Chris Jones wants Clark back in Kansas City for another run. Why wouldn’t he? While Clark’s ability to remain consistently productive through a 17-game regular season is, at this point, suspect, the truth is that he’s a monster in the big game who has proven his toughness by playing through myriad injuries and a stomach issue. He’s also the heart of the Chiefs’ locker room who elevates the play of everyone around him.

It’s hard to put a monetary value on what Clark brings in terms of intangibles, but the cap situation was simply too much for the Chiefs to handle and Brett Veach looks like he’s moved on. But until the club comments on Jones’s hopes or Clark finds a new home, fans will continue to wonder if Clark is coming home for a fifth season in K.C.
