JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR

It wasn’t so long ago that being a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers meant being accustomed to deep postseason runs, given the franchise’s status as one of the most decorated in NFL history. Yet time goes fast and the years add up quickly, so it might surprise some of you to know that it’s been well over a decade since the Steelers were last in a Super Bowl and 15 years since they hoisted the Lombardi.

Unfortunately for JuJu Smith-Schuster and his former Steelers teammates, they only knew the declining years of Ben Roethlisberger’s career. They might have made the playoffs a few times, but they could never get past a single round, and that includes a game against the Browns following the 2020 season in which Smith-Schuster did everything he could to advance: with 13 catches for 157 yards and 1 touchdown to his credit.

This year, Smith-Schuster is experiencing what it’s like to be a part of an ascending young team with a star quarterback in his prime—one with a wide open Super Bowl window. He’s an important offensive cog, and much of Chiefs Kingdom is hoping this isn’t a one-and-done ride with the team for Smith-Schuster. Fans can only hope the veteran WR likes being a part of the ride so much that he re-signs in the offseason.
