Daurice Fountain

Daurice Fountain was the preseason sensation for the Kansas City Chiefs this year. In making his way from a tryout during rookie minicamp to the active roster, Fountain lived out the very dream that so many players are told is possible when they first land with an NFL franchise.

Fountain put in the hard work, to be sure, and followed it up with exceptional performances on the field when it mattered the most—at least for him. Preseason games mean little, but given the competition for active roster spots, Fountain made his presence felt far above everyone else vying for the same roles.

If Fountain can show up at that level when forced to fight for his job, then it makes us excited to see what he can do when given some actual routes to run in the regular season. However, he began his Chiefs career as a healthy scratch against the Browns as special teams players like Marcus Kemp were active instead.

Will the Chiefs give Fountain a chance to turn heads during the regular season? Is he around for security purposes only? He was such an impressive performer that we’re hoping to see him sooner than later.
