1. Houston Texans

This is honestly a no-brainer for Eric Bieniemy. The Houston Texans under Bill O’Brien had won their division four out of six times in his first six seasons and made the playoffs at the same rate. The division has gotten stronger in the last season or two but the fact still remains that teams like the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans have been inconsistent.

Even more, the Texans have a number of talented players on both offense and defense to build around. JJ Watt remains a productive starter and is the kind of leader that a rebuilding team with a new coaching staff desperately needs.

They also possess a bevy of weapons in the passing game including Will Fuller and Brandin Cooks. Management would be wise to use multiple parts of their eight draft picks to upgrade, but the fact remains they are great building blocks to start with.

Obviously, the biggest selling point the Texans have over every other team in this conversation is their quarterback. Even in somewhat difficult circumstances, Deshaun Watson has proven himself to be a borderline top-five quarterback in the NFL.

Eric Bieniemy’s brand of West Coast offense and ingenuity should easily bump Watson into the top-five conversation and potentially even the top-three conversation. Add to this their eight draft picks, and the fact Houston should be able to consistently attract players in free agency, and Bieniemy’s decision should already be made. The Texans just need to offer him the job.
