1. QB Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes took the NFL by storm when he became the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018. Within the first two weeks, Mahomes threw 10 touchdowns, the youngest quarterback to do so in the first two weeks of an NFL season. It was the first of many records Mahomes broke. Mahomes has become the youngest quarterback to shatter a lot of NFL records. Most recently, Mahomes became the fastest player to throw for 9,000 career passing yards, doing so in 30 games. Mahomes surpassed Hall of Famer Kurt Warner, who did it in 32 games.

Mahomes threw for 50 touchdowns and more than 5,000 passing yards in 2018, earning him MVP honors while leading an offense to manufacture the third highest scoring output in NFL history. He became the first player in Chiefs history to win the MVP. Mahomes is already ninth in franchise history in passing yards and fifth in passing touchdowns in his career as a Chief.

The most impressive part about Mahomes’ performance is how much he has been able to do in a short amount of time. At 24 years old, he’s accomplished a lot. In his third NFL start, he threw six touchdowns in one game. A feat that took Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre 18 years to do. Already putting up big numbers and earning multiple NFL AP awards, the only thing left for Mahomes to do is to play in and win a Super Bowl, and hopefully have many Super Bowl wins for years to come.

He’s played in 32 games, including the playoffs. But he’s done enough to earn the No. 1 spot on this list.
