Around the AFC West, Week 6: Oakland Raiders settle into second place

Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos traveled to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers in search of their first win of the season and find it they did. We had been waiting for Phillip Lindsay to break out again and that is exactly what happened. He rushed for 114 yards on 15 carries. The Broncos defense stepped up for the first time all year and forced three turnovers. Wide receiver Courtland Sutton found the end zone on a 70 yard touchdown from Joe Flacco. I still do not believe Flacco is a good quarterback, but that was a beautiful reception.
The one stain on this otherwise good win is that the Denver special teams allowed the Chargers to return a punt for a touchdown, thus making the score closer than it should have been. All in all, the Chargers were never really in this game. Denver controlled it and handed Vic Fangio his first win as an NFL head coach.
Denver suffered one very terrifying injury on Sunday. Cornerback De’Vante Bausby collided with teammate Alexander Johnson. Bausby couldn’t move any extremities for 30 minutes after the hit and was immediately strapped to a backboard and taken off the field to a hospital. Luckily, he regained feeling. However, he has been placed on injured reserve. Linebacker Justin Hollins also sprained his knee on Sunday.
Next week, the Broncos host the Tennessee Titans. The Titans are 2-3 having just come off an ugly game with the Buffalo Bills where they lost 14-7. The Titans lost the game because former Chiefs kicker Cairo Santos caught a case of the yips. He missed 4 field goals in the loss and was cut the next day, and former Chicago Bear Cody Parkey of double doink fame was signed to replace him. To be honest, I’m not all that excited since neither team is particularly fun to watch. Maybe I’ll go for a walk instead.
Opening line odds for the Broncos in Week 6: -2.5.
Game time is 3:25 p.m.
