Linebackers

On The Active Roster: Anthony Hitchens, Reggie Ragland, Damien Wilson, Darron Lee, Ben Niemann, Dorian O’Daniel, Jeremiah Attaochu

Practice Squad: none

Cut: Raymond Davison, Darius Harris, D’Juan Hines

Projecting the linebackers this year really comes down to what you think will happen with two players, Dorian O’Daniel and Jeremiah Attaochu. Anthony Hitchens, Reggie Ragland, Damien Wilson, Darron Lee, and Ben Niemann are all locks to make the team. I don’t think Raymond Davison, Darius Harris, or D’Juan Hines have any shot to make the active roster (maybe one of them squeaks onto the practice squad). So that just leaves O’Daniel and Attaochu.

I believe both players will make the roster, but if the Chiefs were going to clear a roster spot to add someone at another position, I don’t think either guy should feel too comfortable. Ultimately, I believe O’Daniel’s ability to play special teams and the fact that he was a third round pick just last season keep him around another year.

As far as Attaochu goes, he is literally my 53rd man on the roster. What got him on over other guys is the fact that he can add depth both at the SAM linebacker spot and as a rush end on passing downs as well as play on special teams. If the Chiefs were to add an extra body (say at cornerback or tight end), he could be the first man to go.

Speaking of cornerback…
