Defensive Line

On The Active Roster: Frank Clark, Chris Jones, Alex Okafor, Derrick Nnadi, Emmanuel Ogbah, Tanoh Kpassagnon, Breeland Speaks, Xavier Williams, Khalen Saunders

Practice Squad: Joey Ivie

Cut: Justin Hamilton, Cavon Walker, Rob McCray, Hunter Dimick

I love the depth that the Chiefs have on the defensive line. I have nine guys making the active roster but ultimately this could be a position where they could move someone to strengthen another position if the opportunity presented itself. My last two guys on are probably Breeland Speaks and Khalen Saunders. Ultimately I think their draft investment keeps them on the active roster, but I’m not sure how much either guy will actually contribute this season.

I actually think that Joey Ivie looked better in the preseason than Saunders did but K.C. won’t likely risk losing their third round draft pick so I’ve got Ivie on the practice squad. I think if he continues to develop, he has a good shot of taking Xavier Williams roster spot next season. The rest of the cuts were fairly easy in my opinion. I had some hope for Justin Hamilton coming into camp, but he simply didn’t impress much in the first three preseason games. Rob McCray flashed a couple of times but not enough to bump anyone else off the roster.
