Arizona Hotshots v Salt Lake City Stallions

The games this weekend seemed to follow a pattern. They were total blowouts, or they were competitive and exciting. The Arizona Hotshots and Salt Lake City Stallions fell into the latter category. This game was the last of the weekend and had arguably the best quarterback performance of the four games played. John Wolford started throwing downfield early and was able to put the Hotshots on the board quickly. The Stallions followed suit scoring a touchdown of their own on a two-yard run by former Minnesota Vikings Running back Matt Asiata.

Wolford went on to throw for 275 yards and four touchdowns while leading Arizona to a 38-22 victory against the Stallions. Former Chiefs wideout Rashard Ross was the top receiver for the Hotshots hauling in 103 yards and two touchdowns. Ross was one of only two receivers to break the century mark over the weekend. Jhurell Pressley led the team in rushing yards with 64. Pressley is a former NFL running back that has spent time with the Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Giants.

The Stallions were led in rushing yards by former Los Angeles Charger and Indianapolis Colt Brandon Oliver who rushed for 40 yards on the night. Josh Woodrum was the Stallions quarterback, and he struggled to find any consistency as he only completed 45 percent of his passes o before he was pulled for backup Matt Linehan. Each quarterback threw for a touchdown and interception before the night was over. The Stallions had a chance to attempt a comeback, but it was ruined when Dres Anderson ran into Hotshot punter Jeff Locke. This blunder effectively ended any chance that the Stallions had to try and snatch a win away from Arizona.
