Patrick Peterson, Cornerback, Arizona Cardinals

Why it makes sense

The Chiefs need a corner and playmakers on defense. Patrick Peterson is arguably the best corner in the game and an undisputed playmaker. The Chiefs have extra draft capital and the Cardinals have a lot of holes on their roster. Patrick Peterson would make the Chiefs heavy favorites for the super bowl. It would be a match made in heaven for Chiefs Kingdom.

What might stop the deal

Absolutely nothing. Well, that is if you ignore the fact that Patrick Peterson himself said he does not want to be traded and plans on remaining a Cardinal. Still, the rumors persist and those of us who are gluttons for punishment are holding out a tiny shred of hope that will be painfully shattered at the deadline.

Cost and Probability

This is going to cost a lot. The Chiefs would likely have to give up a minimum of a 1st and 3rd round pick, probably more, if they wanted to make a serious offer. Brett Veach is aggressive enough that he may swing for the fences with a bold offer with 2 1st round picks, but I have mixed feelings on that. Patrick Peterson does have a relatively team friendly contract and is in the prime of his career, so it would be worth the cost.

Next. The Chiefs bought themselves time to improve. dark

Chances of this trade happening? A 10 out of 10, well, at least in my Madden franchise. In reality, it’s probably closer to a 0.
