Denver Broncos

More from Arrowhead Addict

The Denver Broncos are coming off an impressive rout of the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night. I, unfortunately, was caught up with work obligations at the start of the game, but tuned in before halftime and had to catch myself wondering how late it was due to the score. The Broncos defense showed up just like Von Miller said they would. They recorded two pick-sixes in the first quarter to beat the Cardinals 45-10 (does that score sound familiar?). Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders threw and caught touchdown passes. Maybe Denver solved their quarterback problem? Now the Cardinals are a seriously struggling team behind rookie Josh Rosen, so maybe this win is nothing to write home about, but it was definitely a confidence booster as the Broncos headed into a mini-bye.

The Broncos had a couple injuries coming out of the game. DeSean Hamilton left with a knee injury and safety Darian Stewert left with a neck injury in the first quarter. The most notable injury was to Royce Freeman. He has an ankle sprain, and I would bet he will not play on Sunday.

What has been most entertaining this week are the developments around Chad Kelly. The reports have said he was at Von Miller’s annual party where he got hostile with guests and security. He escaped the party and broke into a home nearby. Upon the homeowners’ discovery of Kelly, they hit him with the metal tube from a vacuum cleaner and chased him out of the home. Kelly was arrested and charged with criminal trespass. John Elway was notified and mulled over his options, and as of today, the Broncos have parted ways with Kelly.

Next week, the Broncos head to the loudest stadium in the world to take on the Chiefs for the second time this season. The weather looks to be perfect for Sunday’s divisional match-up. Can the Broncos carry the momentum of their big win over the Cardinals or will they fall victim to the high-flying Chiefs offense once again? I predict it is the latter. Game time is 12:00 p.m.
