Draft Position and Fit with Chiefs

Deionte Thompson will likely heard his name called on night 1 of the NFL Draft. It is hard to project where exactly he will go, as NFL teams seem to value the safety position at different rates. I think it is possible that Thompson is there toward the end of round 1, where the Chiefs will likely be picking.

Thompson would provide a true center field presence. He would free Eric Berry to play closer to the line of scrimmage, and hopefully be able to create some turnovers downfield. This would also help the Chiefs defense compensate for their lack of talent at corner.
