Strengths

Height/Weight/Speed

Deionte Thompson has a rare combination of size and speed that the NFL covets for members of their defensive backfields. Watching the tape, Thompson looks like one of the fastest guys on the field and moves around in space with ease.

Centerfield Coverage

This is an area that the Chiefs have struggled in since Ron Parker started to lose a step. There are some talented safeties in this class but none look as comfortable manning the deep center of the field as Thompson. He is capable of diagnosing plays quickly and putting himself in position to do his job.

Aggression

I include this here because often times players who play more of a center field coverage role have a tendency to be soft against the run and in tackling. Thompson needs to improve his technique, but he is a willing tackler and shoots forward on run plays.
