Alex Boone – Guard – 31

Alex Boone is a veteran who has been very good at his job over the last eight seasons with the 49ers, Vikings, and  Cardinals. If the Chiefs are concerned about Cameron Erving or whoever they have slated to start week 1, Boone could be a short-term option while finding a long-term answer at left guard.

Jeff Allen – Guard – 28

Speaking of guards, say hello to an old friend in Jeff Allen. He was drafted by the Chiefs in 2012, and then left via free agency for the Houston Texans in 2016. He battled injuries for most of his two years in Houston before being released with an injury settlement in July. If he is healthy he is a guy who could come in and already know the playbook. He’d also add experience, versatility and grit to the line.
