Defensive Linemen

  1. Chris Jones
  2. Allen Bailey
  3. Jarvis Jenkins
  4. Derrick Nnadi
  5. Xavier Williams

The Chiefs look a bit more athletic and talented all-around on the defensive line with a rotation that includes Jones, Nnadi, Williams and Bailey. Even Jarvis Jenkins was a favorite getting votes from every single contributor, which was a bit surprising considering he’s typically thought of as a rotational body. Apparently he’s everyone’s favorite rotational body. (I’ve never written that phrase before.) Justin Hamilton and TY McGill also received votes.

Linebackers

  1. Justin Houston
  2. Dee Ford
  3. Breeland Speaks
  4. Tanoh Kpassagnon
  5. Reggie Ragland
  6. Anthony Hitchens
  7. Ben Niemann
  8. Ukeme Eligwe
  9. Dorian O’Daniel

There are a lot of new faces for the Chiefs here at this position both outside and inside. Breeland Speaks joins a burgeoning Kpassagnon to give the Chiefs four players who should be able to get after the passer with good success. This left Frank Zombo on the outside looking in after five years in Kansas City. It will be interesting to see if Veach agrees or keeps around the special teams favorite.

On the inside, Derrick Johnson is no longer around after 13 years with the team. Instead the Chiefs have called upon Reggie Ragland and Anthony Hitchens to take his place in the heart of the defense. Ukeme Eligwe was a popular choice to back up both along with third round pick Dorian O’Daniel. Finally Ben Niemann made the cut despite being an undrafted free agent. Terrance Smith then becomes an outsider looking in.
