Defensive Line

1. Adam Gotsis, Denver Broncos

Gotsis may be the weakest part of the defensive front for the Broncos. This shows how good their defense truly is. Gotsis is a talented player and can contribute against the run and pass. The Broncos will need another stellar performance from him for continued defensive success.

2016-2017:

41 tackles, 2 sacks, 0 forced fumbles, 4 passes defensed

Prediction:

33 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 pass defensed

2. Mario Edwards Jr., Oakland Raiders

Edwards is a good run stopper and had his best pass rushing season in 2017. It will be interesting to see who gets the majority of reps at each position on the Raider’s line. I expect Mario Edwards to continue to start in whatever base defense that the Raiders choose to run.

2016-2017: (14 games)

27 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 0 forced fumbles, 0 passes defensed

Prediction:

31 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 pass defensed

3. Allen Bailey, Kansas City Chiefs

I do not know what to expect from Allen Bailey. While he is a huge guy and can dominate with his bullrush, he disappears in games. In fact, he will disappear for weeks at time. However, he can be a huge asset and it is the Chief’s hope that they can get his best.

2016-2017: (14 games)

38 tackles, 2 sacks, 0 forced fumbles, 0 passes defensed

Prediction:

33 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumbles, 1 passes defensed

4. Darius Philon, Los Angeles Chargers

Philon is another really great, young piece to the puzzle in Los Angeles. After a very good season last year, the Chargers are hopeful for further improvement. Again, I believe this is a guy that people could rank higher on this list. He is very athletic for his size and it will be interesting to watch his progression.

2016-2017:

31 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 pass defensed

Prediction:

34 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 0 forced fumbles, 0 passes defensed
