Anthony Sherman

It’s impossible not to love Anthony Sherman. Once the trade fodder returning to the Chiefs for cornerback Javier Arenas, Sherman has somehow stuck with the team for five full seasons and is heading toward a sixth unless the Chiefs surprise everyone with a preseason release.

Sherman has already been a second-team All-Pro in 2014, as voted on by the Associated Press, so he’s not without at least some level fo league-wide respect. However somehow blocking for the league’s leading rusher, who was a rookie, still wasn’t enough to earn a Pro Bowl nod at a position with a thinner talent pool than most. After all, many teams don’t even employ a fullback, so that should be working in Sherman’s favor.

Maybe this is the year that Sherman can finally earn his ticket to Camping World Stadium. The Chiefs offense should earn all kinds of attention this year.
