Tight Ends

Like the other offensive positions, the starting tight end spot is set with Travis Kelce. After that…..well let’s just say its not exactly a stacked position for the Chiefs. Here are the numbers.

Chiefs fans are ready to show Demetrius Harris the door after several seasons of inconsistent play and a suspension for the first game of this season. Working for those who would like to see Harris gone is the $2.1 million that the Chiefs would save if they did cut him. The problem is finding two guys to beat him out.

While Blake Mack is an exciting undrafted free agent and the only guy on this list besides Kelce signed beyond this season, he’s been running almost exclusively with the wide receivers so far during offseason training activities. If Mack is going to be a large wideout, that just leaves Tim Wright, Jace Amaro, and Alex Ellis to push Harris off the roster.

Could that happen? Sure. Do I think Chiefs fans should get their hopes up that he’ll be gone? No. What is clear looking at this list is that the Chiefs really need to invest in another young tight end with Harris, Wright, Amaro, and Ellis all only signed through this coming season.

Finally, a look at the offensive line.
