At New England Patriots

As suggested earlier this offseason, preferably for Week 1, the NFL must put the Chiefs and the Patriots on primetime. The Chiefs and Patriots met on Monday Night Football in 2014 and during the Thursday Night Football kickoff game in 2017. Although NFL fans want close contests from beginning to end, fans were intrigued by the stunning blowouts the Chiefs caused in both meetings.

The NFL would be crazy to not schedule this game on primetime. The pregame narrative will heavily feature those two previous regular season meetings. If scheduled for Week 1, there are plenty of great storylines for the media to cover, such as New England’s road to redemption after losing in the Super Bowl, plus Patrick Mahomes entering his first season as the primary quarterback, replacing Alex Smith. The game would also feature head coaches Bill Belichick and Andy Reid, who own spots No. 1 and 2 for most regular season wins among active head coaches in the NFL.

Considering how the last two regular season meetings went, fans won’t argue seeing these two teams play again on primetime.
