TE Erik Swoope

I know fans are not interested in another former basketball player trying to play football, but Erik Swoope has shown in his small amount of time in the NFL that he belongs. Swoope entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent, and the Indianapolis Colts decided to take a chance on him. When the Colts traded Dwayne Allen to the Patriots, it signaled that Chris Ballard believed in Swoope and his ability to continue to develop his game.

Ballard was the not the only one to think that Swoope was improving from his first to his second year. PFF showed his overall improvement had jumped from 60.9 to 72.7. For a player that never played a down of organized football activity until he started playing in the NFL that is impressive. Unfortunately, Swoope was placed on IR before the first game of the 2017 season. He had to have arthroscopic knee surgery on the issues he had been having. If the Chiefs are looking for a better version of Demetrius Harris for what would likely be a cheaper amount Swoope is their guy.
