Four current Kansas City Chiefs who stood out at the Senior Bowl
By Matt Conner
Eric Fisher
For all of the players taken by the Chiefs over the years who starred at the Senior Bowl, no single player raised his stock at the week-long parade of practices and performances than current Chiefs tackle Eric Fisher. In fact, his performance during Senior Bowl week back in 2013 helped him catapult an entire rookie class to be the first overall selection.
At the time, Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller said Fisher had one of the best weeks ever at the Senior Bowl and said:
"“I totally understand the buzz and the hype that he generated there because he was shutting down every pass rusher that they threw at him. He was showing power, length, quickness, he was finishing blocks, just a tough all-around player.”"
Throughout the entire week, Fisher was earning high grades from any and every draft analyst there, and it’s clear that Dorsey fell in love with Fisher during the same process. While it’s easy (and lazy) to knock Fisher as a first overall pick who hasn’t become a game-changing force, the reality is that Dorsey still ended up picking a solid starting left tackle in what might be the single worst draft class in NFL history.
