2017 NFL Draft: A closer look at Deshaun Watson & Davis Webb
I’ve seen enough from this week’s film study that if either player becomes the newest member of the Kansas City Chiefs, at the end of the month, the Kingdom should be satisfied. Both of them have unique qualities that make them valuable to this particular offense. If I’m honest, I’m partial to Davis Webb. With some coaching, I believe he can be an excellent football player at the next level. He’s the son of a coach and a faithful student of the game. His work ethic is unmatched. MMQB’s Emily Kaplan did a wonderful profile of Webb recently. In it, she details Webb’s devotion to film study and the long hours he’s put into becoming a better football player.
My apologies for the delay, but I’m finally ready to make my recommendation for the Kansas City Chiefs with the 27th overall pick. It’s Davis Webb, folks. I realize that won’t be a popular opinion because he’s not the sexy pick everyone’s been clamoring for the past three months. You aren’t quite as familiar with him as you are the Deshaun Watsons and Mitch Trubiskys of the draft class. Don’t take my word for it though. I’d encourage you to watch the tape and come to your own conclusions.
What quarterback film should I review next? Are there other candidates worth a look projected to be selected on the second and third days of the draft? Should the Chiefs be looking at a position other than quarterback at 27? Use the comment section below to weigh in on the discussion. As always, we appreciate your readership and support.
Until next time, Addicts!
