Can Alex Smith shake off rust against Bucs?

While the offense for Tampa ranks right in the middle of the NFL in terms of points (24.0) yards (357.6), their defense ranks near the bottom. That has always seemed to be the problem for this squad. The offense has the benefit of former first-overall pick Jameis Winston, who does have his own ups and downs, but it is their defense that always struggles.

Ranking 25th in rushing yards allowed, a healthy Chiefs running back Spencer Ware should have a good game against their bad run defense. Their pass defense does not fare any better than the run defense, allowing 267 yards passing per game. Yes the Bucs are bad, but they are still 4-5 and sitting in second in the NFC south. What’s more interesting about this squad is their road record, where they are 3-1. This is also the team that gave the Oakland Raiders a run for their money until the Raiders were able to win in overtime, so don’t sleep on this team.

The Chiefs are heavily-favored against Tampa Bay, and rightfully so. The Chiefs are better, although, which Alex Smith will suit up for the team? The one who manages the game very well, limits his mistakes and takes care of the football; or will he be the timid player who missed open targets and just did not play like himself?

Smith needs to knock the rust off this game. Injuries and maybe even a little bit of fear could have factored into his game at Carolina, but this is at home. The Chiefs are undefeated at Arrowhead this season. On the whole, Smith has been good this season; not great, but good enough. If the team wants to win the AFC West, it starts and ends with Smith.

What do you think, Addicts? Am I wrong in thinking Smith needs to knock the rust off this game?Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
