Cairo Santos is exactly what the Chiefs need in a kicker. Despite the pressure of making a field goal and two extra points to send the game to overtime, Santos looked calm and collected. Week one ended with major flaws in the kicking game around the NFL. With nine kickers missing field goals and four missing extra points, it feels good to have someone so automatic. Without Santos’ clutch kicking, the Chiefs would be 0-1.

Dustin Colquitt continued his usual habit of punting well but not terribly long. He pinned one inside the 20 and nearly put the Chargers on their own one yard line on another. While we would like to see less of Colquitt on the field his impact is always positive.

A standout from special teams on Sunday was rookie Tyreek Hill. Hill returned punts and ran gunner on the outside on punt coverage. At times he single-handedly limited a return by the Chargers and showed great vision on his own returns. The Chiefs fans will have something to get excited about when the opposition is set to punt. This guy looks like he could break one at any time.
