De’Anthony Thomas isn’t going to roll over for Tyreek Hill

Since the bizarre climax to Thomas’ season in 2015, the writing appears to be on the wall for the Chiefs’ former fourth-round draft pick. Hill’s been the camp favorite thus far, seeming making big plays every day up in Saint Joseph. Thomas was unfazed on Saturday afternoon though, hauling in three balls for 46 yards (in just 14 offensive snaps).

Thomas has an uphill battle ahead of him. He’ll have to continue to produce, both offensively and on special teams, to secure a spot alongside Hill. Thomas will also have to live down the foul taste he’s likely to have left in the mouths of Chiefs brass last year. The odds are long, but he looks to be up for the challenge and is unlikely to surrender his place on Kansas City’s roster.

These storylines are likely to continue to evolve as the Chiefs wade further into the preseason. A number of positions are still very much up for grabs. It’ll be exciting to see which players seize the opportunity the next three games will present them.

What did you note from last Saturday’s game with the Seahawks? Is the No. 2 wide receiver spot Streater’s to lose? Can Tyreek Hill and De’Anthony Thomas both make Kansas City’s roster? Can Dee Ford be a complete outside linebacker in the NFL? Use the comment section below to start the discussion. As always, we appreciate your readership and support!
