It is not time to panic yet. The Chiefs still find themselves in a favorable position, one that is not uncommon. For how many years have we seen players from this team on the Top 100 or in the Pro Bowl? Even when KC was miserable in 2012 with two wins, they managed to get six guys to the Pro Bowl. Yes, it is the Pro Bowl, but the Chiefs weren’t winning any popularity contests at that point.

Kansas City has had plenty of talent in past seasons, and it was only recently that they began to put it all together. Time is against them, just like it is for the rest of the league trying to put together championship caliber rosters. The NFL is a league of parity. Unless you are the exception to the rule like the New England Patriots, before you know it, the party could all be over. Even the Pats’ party is almost a wrap.

So, this is your warning. There a lot of “what ifs” involved here, but this team could look a lot different real soon. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but it will probably indicate the Chiefs are moving further away from a title. It is up to everybody within the organization to take advantage of the assets this team has right now.

If Kansas City is not contending for a Super Bowl in 2016, it will be considered a disappointment unfortunately. On the bright side, it’s one of the better problems the Chiefs have had when you come to think of it.
