Frankie Hammond

We are all familiar with Frankie Hammond and his backup punt return duties. Fans tend to hold their breath when Hammond sets to field a punt as he seems to drop more often than others on the team. Hammond has his three years as a Chief to offer this team but it appears that with the continual drafting of new players in the position that he may be on his way out.

DeAthony Thomas

This pains me because I have always liked Thomas as a player and thought that if he had a healthy season then he could really show what he can do returning kicks and punts. I am not a huge fan of the jet sweep but with Thomas, the Chiefs could run it effectively as both a fake and a sweep around. The drafting of Tyreek Hill could force Thomas to find another team but I do hope he makes the roster.

Da’Ron Brown

Brown spent his season as a seventh round pick on the practice squad for the Chiefs. He has fairly good speed and average size which gives him virtually no way to stand out among the other receivers. Since the Chiefs are looking to really gain ground in the passing game they need dynamic receivers which Brown is not.

Kashif Moore

Moore was one of the many players signed to a futures contract at the end of the regular season. Spending his only season in the league with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Moore played in three pre-season games with the team and was then cut.

Seantavius Jones

Aside from the amazing name, Jones does not have a lot to offer the Chiefs. He has already been cut by two teams in his short career and his lack of physicality makes it difficult for him to get separation in the NFL.
