Chiefs free agency: 3 sensible moves
By Andrew Jones
3. Sign Mohamed Sanu
If you read my bargain free agent article last month then you know I consider Sanu pretty high on a list of potential fits in Kansas City. Sanu is built to be a number two wide receiver and could be that opposite vertical threat from Jeremy Maclin that would blow the whole offense wide open. Could you imagine Sanu and Maclin taking the top off the defense with either Conley or Wilson running a post from the slot? Even Smith couldn’t miss someone that wide open deep down the field.
Sanu had a base salary of only $680,000 this past season so he is looking for a payday. I don’t believe any team will offer more than 3-4 million per year for his talent so that puts the Chiefs in a good position to give Sanu a contender with a good system and a solid paycheck.
