5. Kansas City at Carolina Panthers

This will be a great test against one of the best teams in football. Assuming good health, the Chiefs will be facing a defense that has some real stars in Josh Norman, Luke Kuechly, Thomas Davis, Star Lotulelei and Kawann Short. We will get a great idea of how good this Kansas City offense can be against that group.

Meanwhile, can Kansas City’s defense dominate against Carolina? The offensive line is middling but Cam Newton is a terrific dual-threat. Will Bob Sutton dial some unique looks up to confuse Newton into mistakes? This game will be a nice barometer for Kansas City.

  • 4. Kansas City at Pittsburgh Steelers

This might be a game that determines who has a bye week in the AFC playoffs. Pittsburgh and Kansas City were the two wild card teams in 2015 and both are looked at as favorites to win their respective divisions in 2016. This is going to be a brawl in Pittsburgh, in the the third consecutive year of getting this matchup.

Pittsburgh will be a great challenge to the Chiefs’ defense, with Le’Veon Bell, Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant looking to rack up points. If Kansas City can win this game, it would be a huge road win against a very lethal offense.
