Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers (-3)

This might be the best game of the weekend. With all due respect to our Chiefs and the Patriots, this game has the feel of a classic in the making. On one hand, you have the Carolina Panthers whoa re 15-1 and getting absolutely no respect nationally. Most people think the Panthers have benefited from a ridiculously easy schedule that saw them play the NFC South, NFC East and AFC South.

On the other hand, you have the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle has gone to the Super Bowl in each of the last two seasons but looked dead in the water after starting 2-4 this season. Instead of going into the fetal position, the Seahawks roared back to go 10-6 and fight into the sixth seed. However, Seattle should have lost last week but was able to dodge defeat when Blair Walsh missed a game-winning 27-yard field goal.

This is going to be about the quarterbacks. Both defenses are great, so will Cam Newton or Russell Wilson be the better player on Sunday afternoon? Newton is probably the Most Valuable Player this season, but Wilson always seems to make the plays when it is needed the most.

Pick: Seattle 17, Carolina 16
