The Competition:  Apart from simply knowing who the potential candidates are, the Chiefs front office must also have a firm understanding of who else is looking for a quarterback.  It’s easy to say “take the best guy”, but the truth is that he might simply not be available.  You have to remember that all 32 teams are looking to upgrade their roster, and most of the poorer teams will be trying to do that at quarterback especially.

There is still plenty that can change this season, so not every team on this list will still be looking come draft time.  But given what we have seen so far, it is a safe bet that most, if not all, of these teams will be looking for a new signal caller sometime very soon.

Buffalo Bills:  The Bills came into the 2015 season with a stacked lineup.  An elite defense, a solid offensive line, and quality weapons at every level of the offense.  The problem?  They don’t have much to offer from the quarterback standpoint.  The team has shown some faith in Tyrod Taylor, but you have to wonder just how much they are committed to him.  Rex Ryan knows how a talented team can fall flat because of a bad quarterback situation.

Ultimately, I see the Bills sticking with Taylor for one more season at least.  Rex loves to focus on the defensive side of the ball, and I think that continues.  They may be in the market for a veteran backup to replace EJ Manuel, but that is probably the extent of their search.

Next: Bears and Browns...
