Week 8: Kansas City Chiefs vs Detroit Lions (London).

This game is exciting for the simple reason that the Chiefs will play in London. While here in the mountain time zone the game will start way too early, the idea of the Chiefs on national TV in London with a full day of football behind them, sounds amazing.

The Lions have lost a huge part of the defense of Ndamukong Suh, but added Haloti Ngata, another run stopper. This game will also be a great test for the secondary of the Chiefs, as Matt Stafford likes to throw the ball, and Calvin Johnson is one of the best in the league. Therefore the Chiefs will have a lot to cover when they face off against the Lions in London.

For the Chiefs, it will be about handling the long trip overseas and adjusting to the time difference for the game. However this chance to play in an emerging market opens the Chiefs up to gain some London fans. The Chiefs of course have fans all over the world, and to be able to spend some time in England promoting all things Chiefs will only add to the expanding fanbase. This is will be a tough game, but given the passing defense of the Chiefs last year, I think this will be a good matchup and the Chiefs will move into the bye week with a victory over the Lions.

Final score: Chiefs 35, Lions 28

Every game when you’re a Chiefs fan is a game to look forward to. I hope that maybe I can even make it to one game at Arrowhead this year.
