Reason 1: Jamaal Charles And The KC Run Game Are Elite

The Kansas City Chiefs can run the football. If anyone had any doubts about that fact, they were answered on Sunday. The Seahawks entered the game ranked fourth in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game and were tied for first in yards per carry allowed. The Chiefs proceeded to run for 190 yards at 6.3 yards per carry and scored three rushing TDs. Yes, the Seahawks were without some starters due to injuries, but the Chiefs defense is proof that good defenses find ways to overcome those injuries (more on that later). The bottom line is that the Chiefs running attack with Jamaal Charles is once again proving to be one of the top units in the NFL.

Just how good are they?

For starters, they are fourth in the NFL in rushing yards per game with 141.2. They are third in the NFL in yards per carry with 4.8. They are also third in the NFL in runs of over 20 yards with 10, and best of all, they are first in the NFL in rushing TDs with 16 already on the season.

Knile Davis has been a key contributor with 421 yards rushing and five TDs, and De’Anthony Thomas has added some nice runs as well. However, Jamaal Charles is clearly the star of the show. He has 692 rushing yards on the season and is averaging 5.2 yards per carry with eight rushing TDs. Since returning from an early injury, he is averaging 113.5 yards from scrimmage per game and has scored all 10 of his TDs in that seven-game stretch.

Simply put, Jamaal Charles and the Chiefs running game are probably the number one reason that you should believe in this team.
