ANDY REID AND THE BYE WEEK

Andy Reid is historically very good after the bye week. In his 15 season career, Reid is 13-2 after the bye, which speaks to his ability to build game plans and prepare when given time to do so.

The only problem is he’s 0-2 in the last two seasons after the bye. Kansas City lost to the Broncos on the road last season after then bye and the season before was one of Reid’s worst as a head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. Good news here is while the game is on the road the Chargers are not as good of a team as the Broncos were last season and the Chiefs are better than Reid’s 2012 Eagles team.

Plus, 13 wins in 15 seasons is still very impressive no matter the order of how those wins filtered out. Assuming Reid agrees with the premise this is one of the biggest games of the year for the Chiefs – a ‘must win’ – then Kansas City should be fully prepared to take on the Chargers on Sunday.
