Inefficient:

Now, according to the dictionary, efficiency is the ability to do something or produce something without wasting materials, time, or energy. I don’t believe that the Chiefs have been wasting their time or energy. I do however believe that in their losses throughout the season so far we have seen some waste of their given materials, otherwise known as players. Specifically their key weapon on offense in Jamaal Charles. Let me break it down and show you what I mean.

Over the course of four games; Jamaal Charles, the undisputed best player on the team, has touched the ball a meager 12.75 times per game. Out of those 12.75 touches, only about ten

per game were rushes. To put that in perspective, that puts him right above the Chargers third string back, Branden Oliver, and right below the Raven’s second string back, Bernard Pierce in the league rankings. Overall, Charles is ranked 37th in the league in rushing attempts per game.

Personally I feel like you would want to get your best player the ball more often. In my possibly biased mind, Charles is a top five running back option in the league. So why aren’t the Chiefs making a conscious effort to give him the ball? I couldn’t tell you if I tried, because i’m not the coaching staff. But what I can tell you is that other teams with amazing running backs actually give them the ball. Especially when their running game is the strongest part of their offense.
