Jeer #3: Mike Glynn and Ryan Harris

Glynn and Harris have been rotating doors for opposing defenses trying to get to Alex Smith. It would seem watching the film either the two of them are not communicating well or just completely missing assignments. On the safety in the second half it looked as if Harris failed to pick up the inside blitzer and just stood around waiting to for someone to block.

It should be noted that we do not know what the play calls and coverage schemes are supposed to be and it could be on Rodney Hudson or Zach Fulton for not making the proper calls or communicating who their man is. There are a lot of different elements to run and passing blocking that make up a quality offensive line.

It is clear, however, McGlynn and Harris are the two biggest issues on the offensive line. Donald Stephenson’s return after week four will be one of the key fixes so that’s useful. McGlynn unfortunately will be around the rest of the season unless Laurent Duvernay-Tardif makes some significant advances over the next few weeks.
