Demps was another one of those players that Dorsey brought in on a one year “show-me” deal. And he showed them. Utilized as the Chiefs starting kick returner as well as in sub-packages as a safety, Demps had an outstanding year. After being drafted by Reid in Philadelphia and spending the last three seasons with the Texans, Demps really showed he had a nose for the ball with the Chiefs last season, leading the defense in interceptions with four. In addition to that, he was prolific in the return game, continually rattling off huge returns, which were momentum swingers in several games. The culmination of his return work occured when he took a Washington kickoff all the way to the house in the Chiefs’ Week 14 blowout against the Redskins.

If there was any downfall to Demps game, it was some of the angles he would take to the ball carrier when playing deep. However, he definitely one of the three free agents from the Chiefs I would like to see back next season. I think he warranted a bit of raise, but overall this was a fantastic signing by Dorsey.
