4. David Fales

School: San Jose State
What to Watch: Height, Weight, 40 Time
2013 Stats: 312-487 (64.1%), 33 touchdowns, 13 interceptions; 48 carries, seven yards
Met with Chiefs: Yes

Fales is a rising name amongst the draft experts on the strength of his performance at the Senior Bowl. It is at the Senior Bowl where the Chiefs met with Fales.

A Nevada transfer, Fales is best suited for a west coast system because he does not have a lot of arm strength. His accuracy is very good, however, especially with intermediate throws. In 2012, Fales completed 72.5% of his 451 passes and had a 170.8 efficiency rating.

The numbers don’t show it, but Fales is pretty athletic. He won’t be posting the top 40 time at the combine, but he should post a pretty good number in the 4.7-4.8 range.

Where the combine is going to be big for him is where he comes in with height and weight. There is a chance Fales will come in under 6-3, which is not ideal. He is also pretty light for his size, which will bring about durability questions though he did not miss a start in college.

Keep Fales name in the back of your mind come draft time because of his scheme fit. He may be the Chiefs quarterback pick this year if he measures well at the combine.
