2. Jamaal Charles
Jamaal Charles made the most of his limited touches Monday night. Charles and Thomas Jones got an even split of carries with 11 a piece. The Chargers came in determined to stop the run but Charles still managed to break a big run for a score. Todd Haley has got to get the ball in this kid’s hands more often. 11 carries a game isn’t going to cut it every week.
3. Derrick Johnson
DJ was all over the field last night. His best play came when he ran down Ryan Mathews and stripped the ball handing the Chiefs a crucial turnover. Just a few plays later Matt Cassel found Tony Moeaki in the endzone for the go ahead score. Johnson added 12 tackles (1 for a loss) on the evening. If Johnson can keep it up the Chiefs defense will continue to improve.
4. Glenn Dorsey
For one week at least, Glenn Dorsey has finally arrived. Dorsey was fantastic last night, continuously shedding blocks and making tackles at the line of scrimmage. He finished the game with 6 tackles, 1/2 a sack, 1 tackle for a loss and 2 QB hits. It was easily the best game of Dorsey’s career.
5. Brandon Flowers
Flowers was simply spectacular Monday night. His coverage was solid and he made some key open field tackles that could have gone for big plays. He did a very nice job in very difficult conditions.
Honorable Mentions:
Tyson Jackson, Javier Arenas, Tony Moeaki, Ron Edwards and Terrance Copper (3 special teams tackles).
Ok, Addicts. It is your turn. Who are your 5 Chiefs earning their arrowheads?
