The Madden NFL 12 cover featuring Cleveland Browns RB Peyton Hillis has been revealed. This is obviously big news because electronic football may be the only football (other than college) that we get this fall.

I think this is a pretty cool looking cover.

Jamaal has made it apparent on his Twitter account that he really wants the honor of being on the cover of the popular NFL video game. He is facing a tough battle with Cleveland’s Peyton Hillis.

The Browns haven’t had a RB with the potential of Hillis since Jim Brown and the fan base is hungry for a new franchise star. They love Hillis and you can expect that they will keep pushing for him

That means Chiefs Nation and the Sea of Red need to step up and show the good folks of Cleveland just how much we love Jamaal Charles.

EA Sports is doing an NCAA style bracket tournament to chose the next cover athlete for the popular football video game franchise and Charles is right in the thick of the competition.

Jamaal already defeated Tim Tebow in the first round voting and now he is taking on Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew. Jones-Drew is the #3 seed while Charles is the #6, but according to a recent report from ESPN.com, Charles and Jones-Drew are neck and neck. In fact, the race is so close that a few clicks of the mouse could really make a difference.

In other voting news, the race between Maurice Jones-Drew and Jamaal Charles is a virtual tie and it looks right now that either player could win by a margin of just a few clicks their direction. And when you’re talking about millions of people voting for the cover, you realize how crazy it is that we can have a contest this tight.

As far as I can tell, you can vote for Charles as many times as you like as long as you delete your browser cookies before voting. I know the famed “Madden Curse” frightens some of you but it would be cool to see a Chief on the cover of Madden. Judging from his recent tweets, Charles wants the honor. Jamaal Charles kicks ass in real life and in Madden

EA Sports is doing a NCAA style bracket tournament to decide on the new cover athlete for it’s popular football franchise Madden NFL Football.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles is one of the finalists and drew popular Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow in the first round of the tournament.

When the news broke, I commented that it was a big unfair that Tebow was a finalist, given that he has accomplished very little in the NFL. I argued that Champ Bailey would be a much better candidate for the Broncos. I also gave warning to Chiefs fans that a Charles victory could mean the dreaded Madden Curse could, for the first time, come to Kansas City.

As of now, it looks like Charles is going to advance. ESPN.com just released an article to give an update on the first round Madden voting. According to the article, Charles is kicking Tebow’s rear.

Another shocker is the fact that Tim Tebow, the man who was leading the NFL in jersey sales as a rookie, is losing to Jamaal Charles of the Chiefs, 64.9% to 35%. What happened to all of those Tebow fans out there? Are we seeing a fan backlash against the quarterback? Should EA Sports have went with Brandon Lloyd for the cover instead?
