Update 9:55:35 (via PFT): Adam Schefter confirmed this. Josh Brown is not only a Ram, but also the highest-paid kicker in NFL history. At least we saved some cheese, I guess

Update: Confirmed Scheduled Visits

These are the Chiefs‘ scheduled visits that have been reported widely enough that we feel comfortable confirming them:

K Josh Brown, Seattle – Today/Saturday (unless he signs with St. Louis today)
OLB Demorrio Williams, Atlanta – Today
CB Jacques Reeves, Dallas – Tuesday

That’s all we have right now, besides rumors that we are interested in Donte’ Stallworth, Drew Carter and Randall Gay, though nothing is confirmed.

One other idea I want to point out before I sign off is this: Dwayne Robertson. The Jets are going to likely cut him after not receiving any trade offers of value, the NFLN’s Adam Schefter is reporting. Most of the other teams who needed DTs have traded for one, so we might not have a ton of competition. He still has to be cut, though. That would free us up to draft something else besides DT in the upcoming draft.

Oh, one more thing–the Dolphins signed Josh McCown. That probably means that they aren’t going to pick Matt Ryan.

Josh Brown might not make the trip across I-70. Jeff Wilkins has just decided that he is going to retire, increasing the likelihood that the Rams will throw a big offer at Brown and try to sign him before he leaves the Lou. Let’s go, Chiefs, let’s get it together. From Missouri Net:

After 14 years in the NFL, 11 with the Rams, K Jeff Wilkins will retire, the team announced today.

What In The Hell Is The Star Doing?

Seriously, the Kansas City Star is one of the most highly acclaimed newspapers in the country, yet they’ve reported nothing on free agency since the Josh Brown piece last night? C’mon, the Chiefs are one of the league’s most beloved franchises. What exactly are they paying Adam Teicher and Co. for? Most of the big newspapers that cover teams have been going nuts. I’m pretty sure he has better sources than I have, and look at all the info we’ve found. Can’t say that I’m not disappointed.

If there is no news with the Chiefs and free agency, then report just that–it would be news. Do something!

Josh Brown Kickin' It Chiefs Style?

According to Yahoo!‘s Jason Cole, yes, Josh Brown signing with the Chiefs is a definite possibility:

K Josh Brown, Seahawks: Don’t be surprised if the Kansas City Chiefs make a big run at him.

This wasn’t something we campaigned for, mainly because we didn’t think the Chiefs would spend the money. Still, this would be an awesome signing, something that could potentially help change my mood about the Chiefs’ front office. Let’s do this!

Update 11:00:00 CST: Adam Teicher reports that both Brown and ~~Jeff Faine~~ could potentially visit as soon as today.

Update 12:55:07 AM CST: WPI reports that Brown will visit St. Louis before Kansas City. What about Jeff Wilkins? 35 isn’t that old for a top-notch kicker. The post also looks at all the Chiefs who will not be back.
