Jamaal Charles has defeated very popular Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow in the first round voting for the next Madden NFL cover athlete.

Charles defeated Tebow by receiving 64% of the vote to Tebow’s 36%.

The Chiefs RB now moves on to the “Sweet 16″ and things aren’t getting any easier. The 6th seeded Charles will go up against another of the games top RB’s in 3 seeded Maurice Jones-Drew.

Head here to vote in the second round. If you don’t fear the Madden Curse, then by all means vote for Charles.

As far as I am concerned, Charles already won by beating Tebow. JC is king in the AFC West!

McCoy worked under Fox in Carolina.

The Kansas City Chiefs will be looking for an offensive coordinator in the coming weeks but their top candidate could get scooped up by one of their division rivals.

Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star has been saying for a while that Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy is the top target for the Chiefs to fill the void left by Charlie Weis.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs, there is a chance the Broncos could retain McCoy, especially considering today’s announcement that John Fox will be the Broncos next head coach.

McCoy worked for Fox in Carolina so there is a familiarity there. If Fox decides he wants to work with his old mate then McCoy could end up staying in Denver.

The Kansas City Chiefs have seen their lead in the AFC West evaporate after losing two in a row to the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos respectively.

Todd Haley’s team will look to get back on track this Sunday when they play the Arizona Cardinals. A win would put the Chiefs at 6-4 whereas a loss would drop them to a .500 record at 5-5.
