It’s Championship Sunday!

In just a couple of hours we’ll be in for some dramatic NFL action when the Ravens and Patriots and 49ers and Falcons square off for a chance to play in the Super Bowl.

It’s simultaneously exciting and depressing. I love playoff football but I am super bummed the Chiefs are once again not in the mix. Also, this weekend is bitter sweet because it is our next to last (the Pro Bowl doesn’t count) week of real football. Sigh.

Anyway, here are the details for today’s games. Anybody doing anything fun for the games?

]]> The New York Jets are getting their asses kicked by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship game so you would think their QB Mark Sanchez would be huddling up with his coaches trying to find a way to get back into the game.

Instead he is wiping boogers on his backup QB.

In a fine display of sideline stupidity, Sanchez is showing that he may still have a long way to go before he is ready to lead a team to the Super Bowl. After his disastrous first half, perhaps Jets fans will soon be taking a cue from Bears fans.

]]> The President of the United States hails from Chicago so it is no surprise that he has officially picked the Bears to defeat their rival Packers today in the NFC Championship game. The Pres picked a 20-17 Chicago victory.

Though we’d rather the Kansas City Chiefs were hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers today at Arrowhead Stadium for the AFC Championship game, those of us who are football addicts are still excited about today’s bouts to determine the Super Bowl teams.
