The Redskins went with Oher to replace their aging tackles. I think he’s a bit of a reach there after a weak combine, but he certainly could go this early if there is a run on tackles. I do think Chiefs Nation values offensive tackles, and offensive lineman for that matter, even more than NFL front offices do. It seems like a lot of Chiefs fans value LT as the No. 1 position, when I’d bet that at least 75% of NFL front office personnel and scouts would say that quarterback is the most important position on the field. Nothing wrong with that — just personal preference. Moving on…

Remember, we are shooting for realism here. Well, other than that Martin Rucker pick If we haven’t updated yet, then check the comments for the pick. If it hasn’t been made, wait it out. If someone no shows, the staff will pick for them. The polls are bogging us down a bit.

Rucker Shocker, Da Bears On Da Clock

I just saw that Moose Knuckle selected Martin Rucker in the first round and just about spit up my drink. I don’t know if it was Mizzou homerism, or if the Carolina Panthers wanted to keep it in the fam (Mike Rucker), but it was the worst pick of the draft so far. Rucker is a fine player, but he’s not even rated as the best tight end out of a mediocre class of tight ends. He’s probably a third-round pick. Your pick, though, not mine. Maybe he’ll make me eat my words.

Next up are the Chicago Bears and a poll since we waited far too long.. Will the Bears go QB here, or do Jerry and Lovie still love them some denial?

I must admit, my favorite response by a mock drafter thus far has been Cornelius‘. First off, he start off with a wisecrack back at yours truly — which is always appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed — the whole thing was entertaining. Not only was it entertaining, but it was also informative. The New Orleans Saints clearly did their research before nabbing CB Leodis McKelvin out of Troy — also known as the small school in BFE that embarrassed Mizzou on national TV a few years back. I still remember the clip of that big ol’ defensive tackle pulling a Shaun Rigers before Big Baby even did. Anyways, Porter Park and the Buffalo Bills are up, a team that despite its record I know is worse off than we are. Good luck…

Shocker: Pats Pick Clady; Ravens Up

I still can’t believe that the New England Patriots picked Ryan Clady. Hey, the New York Giants defensive line did own them at the Super Bowl. Anyway, that bring us to kcchiefsfan56 and the Baltimore Ravens.You’d think Matt Ryan would be the pick here, but the Ravens also need to replenish their cornerback depth. We’ll see what happens.

By the way, this is about the pace we’ll keep (3-6 picks per day). That will give everyone time to comment on and discuss each pick. Additionally, mock drafters will have time to do research, and will only have to check the site frequently on the day when they are within five or six spots of drafting. Lastly, contrary to popular belief, we do not sit around and stare at AA with our eyelids forced open Clockwork Orange style all day long — on most days, at least. The real point is that this is the perfect speed. Keep in mind we are still two and a half months away from the NFL Draft. We’ll do this one and at least one more AA Readers Mock Draft.

Like I’ve said before, no offense, but if you don’t show up when it is your pick we have to move on. Otherwise the real draft will start before this baby ends.
