Bars

Welcome to Arrowhead Addict’s Chiefs Bars Page!

We know that Chiefs Nation extends well beyond Kansas City and in an effort to connect Chiefs fans all over the country, we have begun a project to compile a list of Chiefs friendly bars.

Each week during the season we ask our readers where they watch the games. We are posting the locations here so that hopefully, wherever you are, you’ll be able to find some Chiefs fans to watch the games with.

Remember, any bar can be a Chiefs bar. If you can your friends go to the same place every week, every season rocking your red and gold, then you are serving as a base. All you need to do is let us know, we’ll post it here and others will be able to find you.

The below information and the quotes that go with them were submitted by Arrowhead Addict readers. We thank them!

If you have a place you gather with other fans that is not on the list, email me at [email protected]

Enjoy and GO CHIEFS!

Arkansas

Fayetteville

Louies Sports Bar

The owner & his wife are from KC and always play the chiefs games in HD on the biggest screen behind the bar. A good turn out of KC CHIEFS fans come to watch, but Dallas Cowboys fans are trying to take it over. We need CHIEFS FANS to continue coming to prevent this from happening.

California

Corona/Riverside:

Buffalo Wild Wings

If you’re in the Corona/Riverside CA area go to the Buffalo Wild Wings in Corona at The Crossings Shopping Center off the 15 fwy. There’s a few of us there and would like to see some more.

Santa Barbara:

Monty’s

5114 Hollister Ave, Goleta, CA 93111 (ten minutes from downtown Santa Barbara).

It’s not exclusively Chiefs, but Pat at the bar is from KC. KC memorabilia decorates the place and you’re guaranteed to have audio on the game as well.

San Diego:

Kansas City BBQ

In San Diego you can watch all the Chiefs games at Kansas City BBQ. It is longtime owned by KU alumni from Kansas City….they only allow Chiefs games to be shown (not Chargers, unless that’s who they are playing) and have a room in the back for all Chiefs fans to get together.

Mission Beach:

Boardwalk

I live in San Diego and there is a great bar in Mission Beach called Boardwalk. It’s a KU Jayhawks bar, but they also have a good following of Chiefs fans, too. The food and drinks menu is really good! Plus it’s steps from the beach!

Burbank:

Champs

I recently (2 years, wow not very recent anymore!) moved back to KC from Los Angeles. Me and a couple other buddies used to watch the Chiefs in Burbank, on the other side of Hollywood at a bar called Champs. It was a Steelers bar but started having a pretty decent Red and Gold turnout each week.

Woodland Hills:

Soups

Myself and my buddy Leo are both long time and often suffering Chiefs fans and are going to Soups on Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills, CA (a little north of LA) to cheer the Chiefs on! We would really like to get the KC fans in the north LA area together with us! Thanks -Dave

Denver:

Choppers

I lived in Denver for a short period, and I would watch all the games at Choppers (http://www.chopperssportsgrill.com/). Huge TVs there and pretty good food. It is the Watch Party site for KU, and there is quite a few Jayhawk things on the walls.

Crested Butte:

The Last Steep

Owned by two Kansas Citians. Chefs stuff on the walls. http://www.thelaststeep.com/about.html

Colorado Springs:

Kelly O’Brians Sports Bar

239 North Academy Boulevard Colorado Springs, CO 80909-6603 - (719) 573-1976

Is actually a Dolphins bar but Chiefs come in second in terms of participation. Only bar in town with more than a dozen Chief fans on Sunday (and draft day). I went there every week until I got the Sunday Ticket. -Damon

Connecticut

New London:

Stash’s Cafe

In southeastern Connecticut, Stash’s Cafe in New London, CT is the place to catch games. Good wings, cold beer, lots of tv’s, good eye-candy. This area is home to the oldest US Navy Submarine base so you get a few wearers of the red and gold in there from time to time who are away from home serving our country. The owner is very good about getting you a spot to watch the game, unlike a lot of other Sunday Ticket bars around here who really don’t care.

Florida

Fort Myers:

Leapin’ Lizards Bar and Grille

Moved to Fort Myers, FL 2 years ago. We’re about 50-60 members strong and have our own room at Leapin’ Lizards Bar and Grille in Cape Coral. Food specials, 4 HD tvs with piped in audio and FREE SHOTS when the Chiefs score!!

If anybody is in the area check us out. GO CHIEFS!

Orlando:

Millers Ale House

I’m down in Orlando, FL. Don’t know of any Chiefs bar, but i usually catch a few games at Millers ale house on International drive, got a couple Chiefs buddies there, they play every game on sundays. If anyone else is down this way, let me know, Go Chiefs!!

Tampa:

Champps

(International Mall)

2223 N. Westshore
Tampa, FL 33607

It’s not an official Chief’s bar, but a few of us Chiefs fans in the Tampa, FL . meet there. We have a local Meet-Up group for those in Tampa who are interested in hooking up with us area Chiefs fans. http://www.meetup.com/Tampa-Area-Chief-Fans/

West Palm Beach:

The Sandbar

We, in Royal Palm Beach go to The Sandbar. Just a few fans, but the owner is from Independence and lets us have the Party Room. It’s a private room to get loud and yell obscenities.

Michigan

Grand Rapids:

Uccellos Sports Bar

Here in Grand Rapids, MI the best place I have found to go is Uccellos Sports Bar, they broadcast all the games on HD projectors, and so they always have the Chiefs up and playing. I don’t believe there are many Chiefs fans in the area, but if any need a spot to watch the game, I am there every Sunday.

New York City:

The Village Pour House

Without a doubt, the biggest Chiefs bar in NYC.

Greenpoint, Broolyn:

The Red Star

I’ve been to the Pour House with Paddy. There were a surprising amount of Chiefs fans in there. Nice to see.

If any of you Brooklyners out there refuse to go into Manhattan (I know there are plenty of you) I’ve been cultivating a small presence at The Red Star in Greenpoint for a few years now. It is by no means a Chiefs bar, but we get respect in there. I can’t imagine there are more Chiefs fans at any other bar in Brooklyn.

North Carolina

Cary:

Rudino’s Sports Deck

Cornerstone Village

1937 High House Road
Cary, NC 27513

This bar rocks for the Chiefs, go there anytime I am in the Raleigh area even if there isn’t a game. A good crowd and cold beer. Oh they claim it is their own “Little Arrowhead” and it gets about as loud too!

Ohio:

Cincinnati:

Tulsa:

Fat Daddy’s

8056 South Memorial Drive Tulsa, OK 74133

The owner is from Kansas City, and Sundays are all red in the joint.  It’s a cool little bar in the corner of a strip mall.  Sundays there are about 10-30 fans (most Chiefs).  Chiefs games have game sound, but the bar also has other televisions with NFL sunday ticket.  Also has free wifi for checking your fantasy stats! -Anthony

Oregon

Portland:

A & L Sports bar

Cool place to watch on Sunday’s, a good cheap all you can eat breakfast and lots of micro beers on tap. Range from 5-20 Chief fans.

D’s Bar

(Neon sign out front says Driftwood Tavern)

6732 NE Sandy Blvd

Portland, OR 97213-5252

(503) 281-1276

I have been trying to tell any Chiefs fans I come across about D’s Bar because it is actually our very own Chiefs bar.  They have drink specials for the Chiefs and a different breakfast special (early games start at 10AM out here) every week for the game.  The Chiefs get full priority over everyone and we get to listen to the games with sound.  This year the atmosphere has been unbelievable.  Dennis, aka D, is from Iowa so he and his family are Chiefs fans.

Pennsylvania

Philadelphia:

Big Charlie’s Saloon

Texas

Addison:

Longshots Sports Grille

If you’re in that area, it’s a great place to go watch the Chiefs. They have raffles during halftime giving out gift certificates and Chiefs gear. Very cool place with great food.

Austin:

Third Base

I picked this joint for 2010 because I can easily watch the game with my son every Sunday. It has its own parking garage (a huge draw in downtown Austin), and its on the extreme west end of 6th street - very popular with the huge student population in the evenings. At 11:00 I’m the only one there, I set up my table, do some work on the laptop (they have great Wi-Fi) and wait for the boy to show. I’ve noticed the place can get packed very quickly and the layout makes seating tough if you get in late. The wait staff is great and the food is terrific - have had and enjoyed the homemade salsa, sampler plate, Third Base burger, and a my current favorite – a MACKIN’ Reuben with chips made fresh and served warm … and a Guinness for every touchdown in a big red Chiefs mug my son gave me for Christmas a few years back. I’ve left feeling much better after each game this year managing to bank a coupla stouts. BTW – If you’re stuck on the North side, I hear Legends sports bar is the bomb … but I haven’t checked it out yet. No smoking indoors, but they do have tables outside with a handful of TVs. A lot of folks sit out there for the entire games, others wonder out to get a fix.

Bedford:

Big Shots Sports Cafe

My name is Aaron and I manage a sports bar in Bedford, Texas. We are located directly between Fort Worth and Dallas. We are an 8600 sq ft bar with over 40 flat screens. We have been concentrating on promoting Chiefs games since last year and we are up to 40+ ppl a week now.

Bedford, Texas 76021

Corpus Christi:

Paradise Billiards

Only a couple of regular Chiefs fans. If you get there early just ask John the barkeep and a good natured Broncos fan the barkeep to put the TV over the right side of the bar on the Chiefs (if it isn’t already). A crazy former employee (and VERY vocal and somewhat salty Chiefs fan) of theirs named Steve used to have a regular seat in front of that one, but he has since returned to the Chiefs Kingdom. The place also has Wi-Fi and a lot of fantasy dudes bring their laptops. And theirs tons of pool tables too, if you’re into that. I enjoyed the Paradise burger or the chicken sandwich, and a Guinness for every touchdown the Chiefs made. (This was in 2008 and 2009 so people not in the know thought I was in AA.) They used to allow smoking but were wrestling with local enforcement on some pending/existing laws.

Dallas-Fort Worth:

Wizards Sports Cafe in Richardson

Dallas-Fort Worth area Chiefs fans, come join the Chiefs Fans of Dallas at Wizards Sports Cafe in Richardson! We tailgate in the parking lot and it’s about as fun a day you can get outside of Arrowhead Stadium!

San Antonio:

Fatso’s Sports Garden

EXCELLENT sometimes rowdy atmosphere. This are a set of regulars and characters for EVERY team and plenty of space for all, but I’d get there NLT 11:10 on game day, it’s that popular. There is a very good Chiefs contingent at this joint – Ron, Dennis, Marcus, and the gang. Tons of lovely wait staff that are worked very hard during the games, so be patient, order with their workload in mind, and be generous. Recommended meal – Anything, but I regularly snagged the Trail Driver, a great burger. Another pull for me – they serve Guinness. Smokers (I used to be one) must go outside where there may be one TV. I wish I could teleport this joint every where I go.

Virginia

Crystal City/Arlington:

Mackey’s Pub House

Mackey’s Pub House in Crystal City/Arlington gets 4-8 people but it’s a Vikings bar (maybe not so bad considering the Vikings may be looking to baseball season already. Mackey’s is also a big Mizzou watch party place so it works out well for the entire weekend.

Mackey’s Pub House
320 23rd St. South
Arlington, VA 22202

Falls Church:

Grevey’s

Has the largest gatherings of Chiefs fans around the Beltway(15-20 max). Decent drink specials on Sundays. Not a Chiefs-only bar but by far the most Chiefs fans I’ve been around for a game in DC/VA.

Grevey’s Sports Bar
8130 Arlington Boulevard
Falls Church, VA 22042-1025

Virginia Beach:

Just George’s Sports Bar

-It has about 20 big screen TV’s and they show every game every week! There’s about 10 of us Chiefs fans there and we are by far the loudest, especially me. They call me ” over excited chiefs fan” It is connected to a huge seafood buffet called capt. georges ,were you can eat all the crab legs, prime rib and all the things you like for only 20$.mix that w/ two pitchers of beer and that makes for a great Sunday!!

-My son and I and sometimes my wife go to “Just Georges” to catch the Chiefs games also. We usually sit in a booth because my son and wife like the little TV in the booth, sometimes you can actually hear the sound from those things.
