Locked on Chiefs: Seth Keysor joins us to discuss Eric Fisher
By Chris Clark
Seth Keysor of Arrowheadpride joins the show to discuss Eric Fisher and the O-line.
When the Chiefs drafted Eric Fisher number one overall in the 2013 draft, many were surprised. Fisher, a small school guy, saw a huge jump in his stock based on the Senior Bowl but Luke Joeckel was thought to still be the best left tackle. Going into his fifth season in Kansas City, Fisher is now a veteran and a leader on the Chiefs line. The question is what is his ceiling and will he ever live up to his draft status?
The biggest question mark left on the Chiefs offensive line is left guard. It has been a rotating mess of players since the year Fisher was drafted. Parker Ehinger looks to be the answer moving forward for the Chiefs, but is he healthy after suffering an ACL tear in October? He doesn’t look to be ready by the start of camp but K.C. needs him by the time they travel to Foxboro to open the season against the New England Patriots

The rest of Kansas City’s offensive line is in pretty good shape. Rising star Mitch Morse holds down the center position and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif signed his extension earlier this year to hold down right guard. Where Kansas City could see its biggest improvement is with a healthy Mitchell Schwartz at right tackle. He didn’t miss a snap last season, but you could tell he struggled with a high ankle sprain at times. With Schwartz and Fisher as the bookends on the line, Kansas City should be in a great position over the next couple of years of they can find a left guard that fits the rest of the mold.
