Former Kansas City Chiefs long snapper Thomas Gafford has reportedly found a new home with the Saints.

For over 100 games, Thomas Gafford was known as the long snapper for the Kansas City Chiefs. Ever since he replaced J.P Darche in the middle of the 2008 season through 2014, Gafford was a special teams fixture for the Chiefs. Unfortunately, he’s bounced around from team to team since then, but hopefully he can find a new permanent home with the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints would be the seventh team that Gafford has played for in one way or another, whether that’s a short term spot on the roster or practice squad or the years he’s spent with the Chiefs. Gafford has spent two stints with the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers as well as single stops with the Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks. He spent last season with Denver.

Gafford has played in a total of 125 games in a career that first began in 2005 as an undrafted free agent. The 34-year-old would not be guaranteed a job with the Saints but rather would compete with Jesse Schmitt and Chase Dominguez for the role of the team’s long snapper, per the New Orleans Advocate.
