The Tennessee Titans have officially signed former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Victor Ochi, who was released a few weeks ago.

A few weeks ago, the Kansas City Chiefs had a bit of a revolving door at outside linebacker as general manager John Dorsey tried to find the best fit for the 90-man roster to head into training camp. The Chiefs clearly had one slot for another veteran linebacker and they spent a week or more searching for the right player before finally landing on developmental pass rusher Marcus Rush, formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The domino that fell to start the entire process was former Stony Brook defender Victor Ochi, who was dumped for the sake of signing former Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Tourek Williams. Williams lasted only four days before being injured and ultimately released, and the Chiefs brought in Jamari Lattimore for a workout and visit. Lattimore came and went and the Chiefs finally brought in Rush officially.

Now Ochi has a brand new home with the Tennessee Titans after other previous stops with the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens. He still profiles as a promising pass rusher if he could put things together at a pro level after entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2016. Ochi had 32.5 sacks at Stony Brook.

That said, he faces serious competition to make it through training camp given the short timeline on the team and the amount of competition. Brian Orakpo, Derrick Morgan, Kevin Dodd, Josh Carraway and Aaron Wallace are all in place in addition to numerous other players vying for precious few roster spots.

Here’s hoping Ochi finds a place to call home to continue his football career.
